FIRST TIMERS
common questions we get from those new to the void to our most experienced.
-
Each standard visit includes 1 hour in the tank (with the ability to extend up to 3 hours when you’re ready). In addition we start off every appointment with a tea ceremony and your appointment is concluded with time to reflect in our lounge with your choice from our adaptogenic drink menu.
-
While our standard session includes 60 minutes in the tank, we recommend planning on holding 1.5-2hrs for your total visit. This will give you plenty of time to shower before and after your session and reflect post-float.
-
We recommend avoiding caffeine and heavy foods up to three hours prior to your session. In addition, it’s best not to shave day of your float.
-
Nope! You’ll enter the tank in the nude so no need for a swimsuit and we have a full suite of Le Labo bath & body products for you here :)
-
We recommend arriving at the time your scheduled session. Even if it's your first time, not to worry, we've budgeted plenty of time for our staff to get you accilimated.

re: booking

All Vessel tanks are full rooms with 8’ ceilings (not the pods or coffin shaped boxes you may be used to seeing).
-
The water is cycled through our filtration system 3 times in-between each session and on the hour when not in use. The filtration process filters particles down to 1 micron in size (standard pool filters go down to 20-30, regularly) and uses germicidal UV light (UV-C), ozone, and H2O2 to destroy bacteria, viruses, pathogens, and other contaminants. In addition, the salt environment in the water (much like the Dead Sea) prohibits the growth of bacteria and fungi.
-
Not at all. Many users are more comfortable with the lights on. We have a variety of settings for you to choose from.
-
Not at all. We’ve commissioned our in-tank audio journeys exactly for this reason. Enjoy from our selection of soundbaths, meditations, and ambient scapes written specifically for use in the tank, exclusive to Vessel.
-
Absolutely. Due to the buoyancy of the water, your body will be corrected with any movements. In addition, the water is less than 1.5’ deep.
-
Afraid not. It’s not allowed within NY dept of health code. It’s also not a great experience (trust us, we’ve tried it).
